1. Move to (Participants): Hove over the participant’s name then click on move to and select the room. Which room do you want to move?

2. Delete Room: Go to the room name and just click on the delete option.

3. Exchange: Select a participant in the other room to swap with the selected participant.

4. Add a Room: See at the Bottom of the window. Click on the Add Room option.

5. Recreate:

  • Recreate All Rooms: You should delete all exit rooms, Then Allow the host or Co-host to recreate new rooms.
  • Recover to Pre-Assign Room: Recreate the breakout room with pre-assign participants. If you have already set up pre-assign participants in breakout rooms.

How to Manage Breakout Rooms in Zoom for Windows & Macs

When the breakout rooms are launched by the host, All the assigned participants will be asked to join. The host will remain in the main meeting, You have to join a breakout room manually.

After starts the meeting, The breakout window will split into two tabs. In one tab you will see all the open breakout rooms and the participant’s name and in the other tab, you will see all the participants.

Moreover, If any participants will not join the breakout room. It will show not joined next to their name. The unassigned participants will be listed under the Unassigned category.

The following options will be seen in the breakout room window:

1. Join: To join the breakout room.

2. Leave: To leave the breakout rooms and move back to the main meeting.

3. Rename: Hove over the room name, Then click on rename. Enter a new name and click on Yes.

4. Broadcast: You can send a text message as well as a voice message by clicking on the broadcast option.

5. Delete: Go to the room name and just click on the delete option next to the rename.

6. Closing Rooms: To close the breakout room or bring back to the main meeting all the participant

  • Open the breakout room window.
  • Tap Close All Rooms.
  • Then a confirmation pop-up will appear, Confirm it to close.

How to Save Breakout Room Assignments For Future

If you want to save current assignments for future use in the meeting. Follow the steps given below:

  1. Once the breakout rooms are assigned, Click on the three dots at the bottom then click on Save Breakout Rooms.
  2. Set a name of assignments. 
  3. Then Click on Save.
