How to Transcribe Zoom Meetings
Before transcribing the Zoom meeting. First, you should enable the cloud recording settings. Then only you will be able to see transcribed the Zoom meeting.
1. Sign in to your Zoon account.
2. View on the left navigation bar, Click on the setting option.
3. Click on the Recording option.
4. Then enable the cloud recording option.
5. In the recording option, Tick the audio transcript box.
6. Tap on save.
As you finish the meeting or webinar, Zoom will send you an email that your cloud recording is ready. You can view or download it.
And after a few minutes, you’ll receive an audio transcript of the recording. You can access it both.
How to Transcribe Zoom Meetings in Word
To view or download the recording, First open the email and click on the link. You’ll see a VTT file. Download the VTT file and open it with an editor or Microsoft Word.
If you want to edit the transcripts follow the steps given below:
- Log in to your Zoom account.
- Go to the navigation menu on the left and click on Recordings.
- Press on the name of the recorded meeting. (You will see all the recording files).
- Click on the play icon.
(The text of the transcript will appear on the right-hand side of the video). - Hover over a phrase you want to change and click on it.
(Note: If you see an Unknown Speaker over the phrase, click on the unknown speaker to change the name). - Make edits as you want and click the check mark.
- Now, Play the video again you will see the updated version.
How to See the Transcript as Closed Captions
The transcript is already generated within the audio and video file, but you have to turn on the feature to see the transcript in the audio or video file:
- Go to your Zoon Account.
- From the navigation menu, Tap on Recordings.
- Tap on the name of the recorded meeting.
(You will get the list of recording files). - Click on the play icon.
- View at the bottom on the right side. Click on the CC icon.
- Done..!!
The transcribed text will displayed on top of the video.
How to Change the Language of the Audio Transcript
This is genuinely a mindblowing feature provided by Zoom that you can change the original language of the transcript.
By default, audio transcripts for cloud recordings are created in the English language, but you change it by following these steps:
- Log in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click on the Recordings from the navigation menu.
- Tap on the name of the recorded meeting.
(You will see the list of recording files). - Hover the cursor over the Audio transcript file and click the Change Language.
- Then click the dropdown menu and select the languages that you want to select from the available language.
- Click on Save to start generating the audio transcript.
Zoom will again analyze the recorded audio and generate a better-quality transcription in the chosen language.
